Google Analytics & Google Ads

We use Google Analytics 4 to measure website traffic and user behaviour. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect data which is transmitted to Google servers. We operate Google Analytics with IP anonymisation enabled.

We use Google Ads Conversion Tracking to measure the effectiveness of our Google advertising campaigns. A conversion tracking cookie is set when you click a Google ad and may later complete a purchase.

We use Google Ads Remarketing to show ads to people who have previously visited our site. You can opt out at adssettings.google.com.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Meta (Facebook & Instagram) Advertising

We use the Meta Pixel on our site to measure advertising effectiveness, track conversions, and build retargeting and lookalike audiences. The Meta Pixel may collect your IP address, browser information, pages visited, and actions taken on our site.

You can control Meta's use of your data at Facebook Ad Preferences. EU/EEA/UK users: we only activate the Meta Pixel after obtaining explicit consent via our cookie banner.

Email Marketing (Brevo)

We use Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) for email marketing and transactional emails. Brevo is GDPR-compliant and certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

• Transactional emails. Order confirmations and download links. Sent regardless of marketing consent as necessary to fulfil your order.
• Marketing emails. Homeowner tips and promotional offers. Only sent with your explicit consent. Unsubscribe via the link in any email or our Contact Page.

All marketing emails comply with the CAN-SPAM Act. They include our mailing address, a clear unsubscribe mechanism, and an honest subject line. Brevo's privacy policy: brevo.com/legal/privacypolicy.

Third-Party Services & Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data to any third party, ever. We do not share your data with any party not listed above, except as required by law.

Data Retention

• Purchase records: 7 years for tax and legal compliance
• Email marketing contacts: Until you unsubscribe or request deletion
• Contact form submissions: Up to 2 years, then deleted
• Analytics data: Up to 26 months (Google Analytics default)
• Advertising cookie data: As described in Section 5

Children's Privacy

Our site and products are intended for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). Our use of Google AdSense does not target children, and we do not serve ads on pages that are directed to children.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including HTTPS encryption, reputable third-party processors, and limited access on a need-to-know basis. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach affecting your rights, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify you by email (if we have your address) or by displaying a prominent notice on our site. Continued use of our site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

This section applies to the "First-Year Home Checklist" Chrome extension, published by HomePlaybook. The extension is an independent product from HomePlaybook and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Google LLC or the Chrome Web Store.

Data We Collect

This extension does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to our servers.

• All checklist progress and status (green, yellow, red) is stored only on your device using Chrome's local storage API.
• No accounts, emails, names, or tracking data are collected.
• No analytics or third-party scripts are used.
• Data never leaves your browser.

Because all data lives locally, uninstalling the extension via chrome://extensions permanently deletes it. There is no server-side data to request the deletion of.

Chrome Extension: Real Home Cost. Homebuyer Lens for Zillow

This section applies to the "Real Home Cost. Homebuyer Lens for Zillow" Chrome extension, published by HomePlaybook. It analyses public real estate listings displayed in your browser and shows a first-year maintenance forecast, a true monthly cost stack, and listing red flag detection.

Data We Collect

This extension is designed to be privacy-first. It does not transmit any personal data, browsing history, or listing data to our servers or to any third party.

• Listing data (address, list price, square footage, year built, listing description). Read from the Zillow listing page you have already loaded in your browser. Used only to generate the analysis panel on that page. Never sent off your device.
• Saved homes. If you click "Save this home", the listing snapshot (up to 20 homes) is stored locally on your device using the Chrome storage API. Never transmitted to our servers.
• Usage counter. The extension tracks locally how many listings you have analysed, only to know when to show the optional review prompt after five listings. This counter never leaves your browser.
• No accounts. No emails. No names. No IP address. No analytics. No third-party scripts. No advertising identifiers.

Permissions Explained

What the Extension Does Not Do

• It does not read or transmit login credentials, saved Zillow account details, or any authenticated data.
• It does not read or transmit payment information, card details, or financial account data.
• It does not scrape listings in bulk or run in the background outside of pages you actively visit.
• It does not sell, share, or monetise your listing data. There is no data broker relationship of any kind.
• It does not track you across websites, and does not run on any site other than zillow.com.

Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The following is stored in your browser's local extension storage. You can view or delete it at any time. It is not accessible to us.

How to Delete Your Data

To remove individual saved homes, open the extension popup and use the delete control next to each home. To wipe all data at once, uninstall the extension via chrome://extensions. Because all data is stored locally on your device, uninstalling permanently deletes it. There is no server-side data for us to hold.
